NOMINATIONS FOR OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEERS IN BRUNSWICK COUNTY

Nomination forms are now available from the Brunswick County Volunteer Center for the 2010 Annual Governor’s Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service. Five individuals or groups will be selected. The awards will be presented in November
at a reception and ceremony at the county complex in Bolivia.

This year there is a change from the past nomination process and it is requested that you submit your nominations in one of the following categories; 1. Senior nominee;
2. Youth nominee and 3. Lifetime Achievement. The selection of the winners is done at the local level and then the number one of the five winners is referred to the Governor’s Office for special recognition.

The winners are chosen on the basis of volunteer efforts, accomplishments and impact. There is a special emphasis on meaningful commitment of time and service to address a community need and/or enhance the quality of life in North Carolina.

Contact; Jayne Mathews, Director of the Brunswick County Volunteer Office for a nomination form at 910-253-2574 or jmathews@brunswickes.com. All nominations are due by August 5, 2010.
