2010 HURRICANE SEASON

Volunteers are needed for various events during the 2010 Hurricane Season.

·        Brunswick County Volunteer Center and Emergency Management needs volunteers to participate in two planned exercises during the summer months; one is on July 20, and the other is August 31. Call Jayne Mathews at 253-2574 if interested in participating in these events.

·        Brunswick County Emergency Management and the Volunteer Center are also in the process of establishing a MRC (Medical Reserve Corps.) in the county. If you are interested in becoming part of this team or have any questions about what’s involved; call 253-2574.

·        If you have any interest in volunteering before, during or after a hurricane, please call Jayne Mathews at 253-2574. No volunteers would be used during a hurricane that required an evacuation, only during a tropical storm or a CAT1 or mild CAT2.  All volunteers would work at the Emergency Management Building in Bolivia under the direction of the staff.
